Job Summary:
The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a multi- unit hotel company. This role involves managing financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, compliance and risk management, financial strategy, and providing decision support to senior management. The Head of Finance will lead a team of finance professionals, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making to drive financial growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Monitor financial performance against targets, identify variances, and provide proactive recommendations for improvement.
- Lead the development of long-term financial strategies in line with business objectives.
2. Financial Reporting and Consolidation:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Oversee the consolidation of financial data from all hotels to provide a comprehensive financial view.
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Responsible for Monthly and Quarterly Books Closing and Audited Financial Results.
3. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards, including tax and statutory requirements.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize financial risk.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, addressing identified issues or recommendations.
4. Financial Strategy and Decision Support:
- Provide financial insights and guidance to senior management to support strategic decision-making and business planning. Evaluate investment opportunities, conduct financial due diligence, and recommend acquisitions or divestments.
- Collaborate with other departments to assess the financial implications of operational initiatives and cost-saving measures.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the finance team.
- Promote collaboration and cross-functional partnerships to drive financial excellence.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant with minimum 10 years of post qualification experience.
2. Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in hotel finance, with a proven track record in managing financial operations across a multi-unit hotel
- company or hospitality group.
- Extensive experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and analysis.
- In-depth understanding of compliance requirements and regulations related to hotel finance.
- Proven ability to evaluate financial risks and opportunities, providing strategic financial guidance.
3. Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial software systems.
- Expertise in financial reporting and consolidation tools.
